Review: doola

doola review: pricing, features and who it's for

doola forms a US LLC for founders anywhere and bundles the EIN, a registered agent and a US business address into Starter at $297 a year plus state fees. It suits founders outside the US who want one bill; a US resident with an SSN can do the same steps for less.

Who doola suits

Founders outside the US who want the filing, the EIN, a registered agent and a US address in one yearly bill. doola needs no US citizenship1, and it takes the EIN step off your hands; on your own that means calling the IRS international line or faxing Form SS-43.

Founders who want the tax filing handled. Tax and Compliance adds federal (IRS) and state tax filing and a 1:1 tax consultation for $1,999 a year1. A foreign-owned single-member LLC owes Form 5472 each year, with a $25,000 penalty for missing it4; doola's pricing page does not name Form 5472, so ask doola to confirm it in writing before you rely on it.

Less suited: a US resident with an SSN. The online EIN tool is free and issues the number immediately if approved2, and LegalZoom Basic and Inc Authority both charge $0 plus state fees for the filing itself89.

State and IRS pages read October 7, 2026; doola read October 7, 2026; the typical agent range is ZenBusiness's figure, read October 2, 2026. doola itself says doing it yourself typically costs $2,000 to $5,000 in the first year across state fees, an agent and compliance filings; the state's own fees in Wyoming are the $100 filing and the $60 minimum license tax.

The downsides

It renews every year. Starter is $297 a year, not a one-time fee, and every plan is billed annually1.

State fees are extra on every plan1.

Starter stops at formation. No annual state report filing, no IRS tax filing and no live calls1. The yearly state duty, such as Delaware's $400 tax by June 15, and Form 5472 stay with you.

Some extras need a higher plan. Expedited EIN processing and free dissolution come only with annual billing on the higher plans1.

Banking is a partner product. doola points you to Mercury for the business account and notes that Mercury is a fintech company, not an FDIC-insured bank; you will need a passport1.

What you get

  • One bill

    Filing, EIN, agent and a US address in Starter's $297 a year1.

  • Built for founders abroad

No US citizenship needed; 175+ countries served, per doola1.

  • Filing errors refunded

doola refunds the formation portion if its service causes a formation error1.

Alternatives to compare

Inc Authority and LegalZoom Basic charge $0 plus state fees for the filing89; you then add the agent and the EIN yourself. Northwest Registered Agent publishes its own guide for non-US founders; we could not read its prices on October 7, 2026, so we do not quote them.
